After completing a week of training in Patzcuaro, Michoacan, in 2004, learning about Plazas Comunitarias, an initiative of the National Institute for Adult Education in Mexico, I joined some friends and traveled back to Puebla, visiting various cities along the way. Taxco, a silver mining town, was one city we visited. While having dinner on the terrace of a restuarant there, I couldn't keep my eyes off the spectacular play of lights from the houses and the streets with the light of the setting sun. I took several views with my camera that evening, and then played with them in LightRoom and with Nik software, until I achieved some pleasing painterly effects. This is the embossed effect. The images below are watercolor effects and color manipulation.
