The often-overlooked entranceway to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, has a stupendous Art Deco design framing the saying "Wisdom and Knowledge Shall be the Stability of Thy Times," a biblical verse from the Book of Isaiah. In the niche of the entranceway is Wisdom, considered the creative power of the universe.(see photograph below). Architectural sculptor Lee Lawrie flanked this impressive focal point with two low-relief sculptures of Light and Sound representing the cosmic forces and heralding the beginning of radio, movies and television. These industries were achieving significance at the time Rockefeller Center was being built. In this close-up of Sound, we see his hands framing his open mouth as he makes sounds indicated as concentric circles.
