The Albany Pine Bush is one of the largest inland pine barrens in the world. Located 10 miles from New York State's capital, the area offers hiking, swimming, fishing, biking and skiing. The 3,200-acre nature preserve has more than 18 miles of trails. and was chosen as a National Natural Landmark for its extraordinary sand dunes. It is also a New York State Unique Area, Bird Conservation Area and a National Audubon Society Important Bird Area.
