While visiting the city of Merida, located in the state of Yucatan, my husband and I found this beautiful restaurant, one of three of the same name located in the downtown. We ate breakfast here several mornings not only because of the lovely outdoor courtyard around which the tables were arranged, but also for the handmade tortillas made fresh throughout the day. A tortilla made from volcanic stone ground corn can't be beat for the flavor it imbues to any food it enfolds.
During one of our breakfast visits I noticed the amazing doors in the back of the courtyard illuminated so beautifully that morning drawing attention to the red, orange and teal details of the door.
The tranquility of the place and the excellent food and service brought us back day after day.
