Feliz Dia, Comarrrre Esabina, Cusco, Peru

Walking in Cusco, I came across this papier-mache image of a woman at the entrance to a hotel, with a sign above her saying "Happy Day, Godmother, Esabina."  Colorfully clothed with beautiful Peruvian textiles, she carries a child strapped to her breast with a shawl, has huge red lips, an empty bottle next to her left arm, a basket with a soda bottle, grapes and twirled paper streamers under her right arm, wears a pair of sunglasses and, of course, tops off her outfit with a white hat.

I have never seen the word godmother (comadre) written like it is here, so don't know the significance of the misspelling.
